Nic Bosquez rides on passion for his job at Faribault Harley Davidson
He’s been a fan of Harley Davidson motorcycles since his earliest days of riding with his dad, and now Nic Bosquez has the pleasure of working with the renowned bikes every day.
At Faribault Harley Davidson, where Bosquez has worked as parts and rental manager for the past three years, the going couldn’t get any better.
“I’ve had a few different jobs and have seen different things,” he said. “The thing that keeps me, at the heart of it, is that I look around and think wow, this is what I do for work.”
In fact, there are so many aspects of his job that Bosquez enjoys, he isn’t even bothered by the 70-mile commute each way from his home in Champlin; rather, it makes him appreciate the atmosphere of the store where those he works with are easy going, he said — a nice welcome after his commute through the cities.
The positive regard for his job is also demonstrated in the fine work he does, stepping beyond his managerial duties to handle the store’s Website and occasionally work in sales.
“Not every employee will jump in and do anything,” said Ann Hofmeister, president and dealership owner. “If someone needs something done and he can do it, he will step in and take care of it. If it’s outside his job description, he won’t complain, but just do it.”
Bosquez sincerely feels that FHD is a store that has the customers’ best interest in mind. He enjoys seeing the passion that the store’s customers have about Harleys and the transition that many go through during the buying process — a metamorphosis of sorts, as the initial planning and excitement for their new “toy” becomes reality. And management at FHD, he said, encourages employees to continue that relationship with customers, which makes his job more gratifying.
“I like to feel proud of where I work,” Bosquez said. “At the end of the day, hopefully I did good for some people.”
“Nic is very professional and has good moral standards,” Hofmeister said. “He’s been a great asset to the company in the sense that he’s an accomplisher. There’s never a dreary day with Nic.”
